JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description Position Overview: Under the direction ofthe Service Manager, the Service Technician maintains diesel equipmentoperation by completing inspections and preventive maintenancerequirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments andalignments; keeping records. Pay: $21-$28/hr. (based on experience,education, skills, and # of OEM certifications, etc.) Shift: Monday -Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Shift Premium:Any hours worked/workperformed Monday - Friday, 5:00 p.m. - 5:59 a.m., and/or any hoursworked on weekends (Saturday/Sunday), will be paid a shift differentialof 15% of your base wage. Performance Objectives: Determines vehiclecondition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifyingworn and damaged parts. Keeps equipment available for use by completingpreventive maintenance schedules; installing component and partupgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting,overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies,sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drivetrains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering,hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments andalignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valvemechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, andtraction units. Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements bytesting engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Maintainsvehicle records by annotating services and repairs. Keeps shop equipmentoperating by following operating instructions; troubleshootingbreakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance;calling for repairs. Contains costs by using warranty; evaluatingservice and parts options. All other duties as assigned ExperienceRequirements: High school diploma or equivalent Trade school or collegeeducation in a diesel technology program preferred. At least 5 yearsrelated work experience preferred. Valid State or Federal A/CCertification. At least 2 engine certification (Paccar, Cummins orCaterpillar) Mechanical knowledge required.
