Our Mechanics safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance onCompany owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment includingrolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely, so our Driverscan continue to keep local neighborhoods clean and safe, by courteouslyand efficiently providing waste removal and environmental services tocustomers.
A day in the life of a Mechanic:
Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy duty dieseltrucks and equipmentMaintain and repair heavy diesel, CNG, gas and electrically operatedequipment and vehiclesComplete reports, work orders, order parts and perform otheradministrative duties as required dailyPlan and schedule repairs in M5 planner and procure all parts forsuccessful planAssist in the review of mechanical write-ups on equipment andcoordinate repair scheduleEnsure safe working conditions and compliance with all safetyregulationsUtilize a variety of power and hand tools and equipmentPossess, provide, and maintain tools necessary to perform tasksrelated to maintenance on heavy/hydraulic equipment.What\'s required:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technicaldiploma desiredMinimum of one (1) year experience as a diesel mechanicMust be computer literate, have the ability to be trained onsoftware systems and the willingness to learn.Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitivefunctions according to Company standardsExperience using diagnostic software a plusConform in all respects with applicable federal,state/provincial, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, andother orders and to all company policies, procedures anddirectives from supervisors.Demonstrate ability to follow detailed instructions, workindependently and maintain accurate recordsAbility to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to performjobPossess physical ability to perform all aspects of job#GFLTalent
