Pay Rate: $50 / Hour
13 paid holidays per year
Up to 10 days of accrued PTO
Please note that this pay range represents a good faith estimate of the compensation that will be offered for this position based off the circumstances. The actual pay offered to a successful candidate will take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to location, experience, and other variable factors.

This will be a fully remote position but candidates must live in Maine.
This housing coordinator position will be supervised by OADS Associate Director for Developmental Disability and Brain Injury Services. The individual in this position will be responsible for leading a significant project to transition a current rental subsidy program to one that affords direct access to this program by waiver members. This position will also act as a liaison with the Housing Authority of Maine with the goal of ensuring that individuals with IDD and Autism and their families are represented when discussion arise about new housing projects in Maine. As the department considers alternative housing options in the new life span waiver, this position will assist with developing policies and rule to support these other options.
Knowledge Skills and Certifications
Eight (8) years of education and/or professional experience in social services program development;and/or
social services related program/policy/fiscal/budget administration/analysis work; and/or other related areas that demonstrate the ability to think systemically, while also being specific in task related detail.
Clear written and oral communication required.
Preference will be given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field,
and
Experience overseeing projects related to housing development for individuals with disabilities.
Facilitation skills of meetings that include a various group of interested stakeholders will be required.
Duties and Deliverables
· Lead a project, which would include substantial stakeholder engagement, to develop a rental subsidy program that provides waiver member access to rental subsidy funds directly based on specific criteria.
· Re-engage with and work closely with the Housing Authority of Maine with the goal of accomplishing the following:
o Advocate for more affordable home options for individuals with IDD/Autism.
o Advocate for the use of universal design in new/renovated Maine State Housing projects.
o Explore alternative housing development and financing options through USDA Rural Development housing assistance projects.
· Develop a new web page for OADS focused on Housing resources and information for people using HCBS in Maine. The goal of this web page would be to include all of the OADS current housing resources across the state by linking to current available resources, which could be available for family members, interested community members, service providers, and housing developers.
· Explore new models/enhancements/alternatives to the current “vendor call.” system to share current housing availability information. This may include drafting new rules and/or policies to support these alternatives.
· Provide support to several current FMAP funded innovative projects under way which address alternative housing/support options.
Schedule
40 hours a week – Monday – Friday within the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM. This will be a fully remote position with priority given to candidates who live in and have knowledge of housing services and supports in Maine.
Contract term is 2 years
