  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in marketing, business, merchandising, economics, agriculture, international affairs, leisure services, or communications and three (3) years of professional experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, agriculture, international affairs, leisure services, business or industry development, the travel industry or in hotel or restaurant management;or

  A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in business administration and two (2) years of professional experience as described above.

  Professional or paraprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

  Requires possession of a valid Driver’s License.

  JOB DUTIES:

  This position assists in developing assessments of marketing needs of the Florida agricultural and seafood industry and implements a variety of promotional programs and strategies, making recommendations to section supervisor. These programs and strategies are designed to stimulate demand and increase the total market share of Florida agriculture products. Examples of these programs and strategies include the Fresh From Florida wholesale and retail promotions, trade and industry events, and agriculture outreach sponsorships.

  Plan and implement projects/activities to promote the sale of agricultural and seafood products including, but not limited to: events featuring the department chef, trade events and program materials to promote specific agricultural and seafood products.

  Establish and maintain contact with major users of agricultural and seafood products such as chain restaurant buyers, chain store executives, buyers and institutional buyers to increase agricultural and seafood consumption.

  Establish and maintain contact with industry representatives and associations.

  Provide direct assistance to the staff on a variety of administrative and general assignments. Provide assistance in planning missions and operations. Provide assistance in implementing and measuring the performance of missions and events.

  Develop ideas and recommendations for promotional items.

  Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge and capability in general office procedures, databases and other technical capabilities as needed to achieve results in missions and projects.

  Perform related work as required.
