The Development Officer works with the Executive Director and layleadership to plan and implement the annual campaign and major giftsfundraising effort. Reporting to the Executive Director,responsibilities include research, cultivation, engagement, solicitationof funds, implementation of cultivation and fundraising events,committee meetings, and other projects. Key Responsibilities: -Developing a strategy for implementing the annual campaigns and majordonor solicitations in partnership with the Executive Director andDevelopment committee. - Employing a variety of fundraising techniquesincluding face-to-face solicitations, fundraising events, educationalprograms, door openers, phone sessions, and written communications. -Educating donors and prospects about the mission of the JewishFederation of the Berkshires through one-on-one and group cultivationactivities. - Working with lay leadership to identify, cultivate, andestablish new donor relationships. - Building and maintaining trustedrelationships with lay leaders, and donors as well as implementingstrategies to increase their level of financial commitment. - Involvinglay leadership in a strategic and planned manner. Provide necessaryprofessional support to the development committee, including agendasetting, preparing reports and presentations, writing meeting notes, andproviding necessary follow-up. - Identifying, training, and overseeingvolunteer solicitors. - Planning and implementing key fundraising eventswith support from the development committee and the Federation supportteam. Skills/Experience: - Bachelor\'s degree preferred - Three plusyears minimum fundraising experience including one-on-one and phonesolicitation. - Comfortable with high-net-worth donors. - Excellentinterpersonal skills, relationship-building skills, and customer serviceorientation. - Communication skills, written and verbal, are extremelyimportant, especially the art of listening. - Knowledge of and passionfor the Federation\'s mission. - Team player with the ability tomultitask. - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite andfamiliarity with fundraising databases. - Working knowledge of zoomtechnology and facilitating virtual meetings and events.
