Job Overview: As a member of the Customer Service Engineering team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed drawings and layouts of customer supply systems, co mply with company and industry guidelines and standards. Customer Supply systems generally consist of cryogenic storage tanks, vaporizers, pumps, high pressure receivers, controls and instrumentatio n at customer locations delivering atmospheric gases, hydrogen or CO2. This design position works under supervision of Engineers and Designer Manager receiving guidance and direction; works on moderately complex projects and performs design tasks from project approval to implementation. Reporting Relationships: This position reports to the Design Team Manager; position has no direct reports but may supervise the work of less experienced designers or technicians. Primary Responsibilities: - Design layouts include the following skills: piping, tubing, structural steel and electrical - Creates fabrication drawings and other construction documents including but not limited to P& ID, SWD, skids, modules and field installations - Prepares optimized system layouts with consideration for cost, safety and operability - Use vendor drawings of pumps, tanks, vaporizers, and valves - Maintains a working knowledge of Linde standards, guidelines, safety and operability best practices and industry standards - Ensures that designs comply with design and safety standards - Interfaces with customers, sales, construction contractors, customer service centers and other internal organizations - Prioritizes work, planning and schedule design activities with other team members - Assist in development and maintenance of design standards working towards continual improvement Qualifications: - 5-10 years mechanical design experience required. - Knowledge of industrial codes, standards, and practices - Ability to meet schedule deadlines - Self-motivated and highly organized - Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support projects and construction Preferred Qualifications: - Associate's degree in design, engineering or similar field. - Proficient in 3D CAD modeling - Some electrical design experience or knowledge preferred. - Experience utilizing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, Schematic Wiring Diagrams and vendor supplied drawings.
