About Design Engineer II

  JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsibilities Configuration management andtailoring for an extensive portfolio of electro-mechanical devices thatencompasses tens of thousands of end products. Internal and externalcustomer engagement using company and customer driven workflows (CRM).Application Engineering for friction braking devices, operation andintegration with motors, clutches, gears, couplings and friction holdingsystems. Lead design efforts for manufacturability, process flow,service and reliability. Design or apply test protocols for differentproduct applications, environments and ingress protection. GD&T, FMEA,material selection, finishes, diecasting, sand and investment casting,injection molding, machining, stamping and other process selectionexperience. Conduct project management and Regal Rexnord Business System(RBS) practices. Perform some setup, troubleshooting, productperformance and capability tests for mechanical and electromechanicaldevices as part of the learning and development process. Familiaritywith UL, CSA, NEMA, ASME and other international regulatory bodies andagency design standards. Experience with Mil-Spec standards isdesirable. Continuous improvement and demonstrated mastery in diversesettings are valuable in the role. PPAP, supplier development andqualification experiences are desirable. Manage multiple projects at thesame time and stay on track for required dates. Product knowledgecapture, curator and dissemination within a cross functionalenvironment. Always promote a safe working environment by followingestablished and required safety policies and practices QualificationsBachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering with emphasis in materialsor electromechanical field. A minimum of 5 years of experience inmechanical development, electro-mechanical troubleshooting and analysisto apply correct solution for robustness and continuous improvement incustomer environments. Strong User of Microsoft Office applications(Word, Excel, Project), CAD software (SolidWorks), PDM systems and ERPsystem such as SAP. CRM experience desirable. Strength inelectromechanical industrial field. Experience with motion control andposition holding devices desirable. Able to read and interpretschematics, blueprints and other technical mechanical drawings. Able tocarry and lift heavy tools, equipment, and components (up to 35 lbs.).Able to operate instruments, programming devices and hand tools. GreenBelt in Lean Six Sigma within 3 years; Design for Lean Six Sigma orBlack Belt preferred.
