Alongside world leading-leading Heavy Vehicle and Off-Road (HVOR) customers, Sensata is developing high voltage distribution units (HVDUs) allowing control of the battery (charging) power in battery electric vehicles in a safe manner. These units contain high power contactors to connect the battery to the charging inlet, invertor motors and auxiliaries, fuses to break the circuit in case of emergency as well as electronics to control the HVDU and communicate with external systems. We’re seeking top technical talent to expand our global engineering team.

　　As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team on the design of HVDU products which satisfy the requirements of electrified HVOR applications. The responsibilities include the mechanical design of the product, simulations, prototype development and testing, product validation and executing launch items for production. This role offers the opportunity to work with a global team on new and innovative solutions that will make a difference in achieving the goal of reducing driving emissions globally.

　　General Responsibilities

　　Key participant in design projects

　　Performs design verification on original and/or derivative design ideas using analytical and experimental methods

　　Key participant in development testing, engineering analysis, qualification testing, production launch

　　Collaboates with necessary personnel on failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations

　　Maintains product documentation (drawings and specifications)

　　Interacts with customers to solicit product specifications requirements, schedule expectations and budget

　　Knowledge of basic electrical circuits, microelectronic assembly, statistical methods, process control fundamentals and product test processes

　　Experience / Qualifications

　　A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience

　　Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

　　Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

　　Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

　　Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

　　Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

　　Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

　　Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
