  DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this role, you will support the Chesapeake Bay Office and the Program Coordinator in implementing Pennsylvania's Phase III Watershed Implementation Plan. The main responsibilities include assisting with public outreach and communications related to the Chesapeake Bay, working with different sections to implement priority initiatives, and meeting the goals of the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) set by the EPA. The position requires a good understanding of web-based processes, attention to detail, and strong communication and writing skills. It also involves collaborating with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), other state agencies, local governments, and county conservation districts to ensure effective outreach and communication regarding Pennsylvania's regulatory commitments and the involvement of local sector partners in the development and implementation of the Watershed Implementation Plan.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time internship that will last from 5/1/2024 through 8/30/2024Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunchTelework Schedule: Interns will have the opportunity to work from home (telework), part-time on a schedule that aligns with their supervisor, so they are in the office on the same days. No full time telework will be approved. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you must report to the office in Harrisburg.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree, or advanced degree program in one of the following majors:Environmental Resource ManagementEnvironmental PlanningEnvironmental ScienceAn approved major course of study at an accredited college or universityFreshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

  Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
