Position Summary
Responsible for the ship’s engineering space operation, repair and safety.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Check, maintain and perform engine maintenance.
Maintain daily vessel engine room log book and sheets.
Maintain engine room parts inventory.
Communicates with Port Engineer in regards to vessel repairs and maintenance.
Make repairs as necessary.
Transfer fuel to and from the vessel.
Performs deckhand duties as required.
Follows company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an “incident and injury free” work environment.
Effective communication with your work partner to conduct the flow of traffic.
Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
Qualifications
3-5 years total experience with at least 1 year of experience in a Relief Deck Engineering role
Computer skills and experience using vendor platforms to complete tug logs and required paperwork.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Experience in the Marine Construction and Dredging preferred
Ability to work rotational 12 hour watch
Ability to work 28 days on, 14 days off, revised as necessary
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with craft workers under his/her supervision and management/supervision.
Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools.
Requirements
Merchant Mariners Credentials (MMC)
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
CPR/AED First Aid certification
Valid US Passport
Driver’s license preferred
Must be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels.
Work will frequently require individuals to push, pull, bend or stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders.
Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Performs other duties as required.
