  Summary:

  Under limited supervision, the Decision Support Analyst assists with the administration of Decision Support tools and processes for the organization’s leaders. Duties entail source system extract definitions/modifications, validation & testing, full costing and overhead allocation development, general ledger and Payroll costing assignments/mapping/definitions, and reporting/dashboard metric development.

  Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development and analysis of statistical, operating and capital budgets.

  • Collaborates with other Finance and Accounting staff in the development and maintenance of cost accounting methodologies, including but not limited to Relative Value Unit (RVUs), ratio of cost to charge methodology (RCC), Variable Charge, Activity-Based Costing (ABC), including the overhead allocation and statistical drivers.

  • Maintains integrity and validity of finance and accounting data in source systems through auditing and regular evaluation. Performs and prepares extracts and reports.

  • Collaborates with Information Services Division regarding ongoing and new developments for finance and accounting business systems, including requirements generation, user acceptance testing, and implementation training.

  • In collaboration with Finance and Accounting leadership, develops, maintains and delivers reporting and metric solutions and analyses such as productivity reporting.

  • Designs, builds and maintains custom reporting solutions including dashboards and ad hoc reports. Assists with establishment of new departments and service lines.

  • Performs special projects as assigned (e.g. Product Line Profitability Reporting, Physician Based Reporting, Length of stay and utilization expense reduction projects, business planning data requests, system enhancements).

  Qualifications

  Required

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from an accredited university required

  • Two (2) years of experience working in a Finance role

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office or a similar productivity suite. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools, including simple formulas and VLOOKUP.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Cultural competency and/or experience working with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds.

  • Experience managing a complex and timely work statement requiring excellent organizational and time management skills. Experience working as a collaborative member of a team.

  Preferred

  • Experience working in healthcare finance.
