Responsibilities:
Develop and supports Distribution Center Management team to ensure productivity, safety, and quality requirements are maintained.
Responsible to build budget and perform detailed analysis of metrics to determine daily Distribution performance.
Manages budgetary compliance by ensuring variable and fixed operating expenses are within budgetary guidelines.
Guarantees coordination of efforts between executive management and various corporate departments through proper communication.
Provide direction and communicate company goals and objectives; along with detailed instruction when necessary.
Develop and support a team-oriented environment with the Management team in the Distribution Center and all other Distribution Center Associates.
Provide leadership and guidance to Management team.
Responsible to develop a culture that embraces safety in all aspects of Distribution.
Manage staffing needs of the Distribution Center by partnering with Human Resources to ensure adequate hiring standards and staffing levels are maintained.
Provides counseling and progressive discipline up to and including termination when appropriate.
Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Higher education, including two and four year degrees related to business management preferred, but not required.
Five to ten years of progressive management experience in a distribution center.
Possess the ability to effectively manage in a professional work environment.
The ability to exercise sound judgment.
Efficient planning, prioritization and implementation of detailed instructions.
Periodic overnight travel is required.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
Duties may frequently involve the use of ladders and stairs.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to set for extended period of time at a desk.
Ability to work on computer for extended period of time.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to bend and twist frequently.
Ability to grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently.
Ability to squat, kneel, balance, and climb occasionally.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures.
