Ensure FP&A has the necessary data required to fullfil its reporting objectives. Define content, design data structures, develop and support automated data solutions. Has a strong focus on Extract Transform Load (ETL), reporting and data quality, providing technical and analysis assistance as needed for applications and processes used by the various business areas. In addition, collaborate with corporate IT on data migration, integrity, security, availability/access, systems performance and the integration with HSB’s SAP Business Objects platform. Serve as the FP&A reporting SME by leveraging the full suite of SAP’s visualization tools in order to present FP&A content to key stakeholder via a live, interactive and self-service reporting environment across multiple platforms (ie. laptop, tablet, smartphone).
Emphasis on Systems Integration testing as well as facilitating User Acceptance Testing. Additional responsibilities include production support, technical guidance on data architectures, while coordinating design activities closely with corporate IT. Foster and develop customer relationships, while having a thorough understanding of projects, enhancements and maintenance tasks relating to FP&A business system needs. Participates on multiple, technically complex, and/or high-profile data projects specific to the FP&A department.
Education and Experience:
College Degree or equivalent work experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or MIS desired
5+ years’ experience with relational databases, database design, data warehousing and reporting
5+ years’ experience of SQL programming
5+ years’ experience with formal testing methodologies
Experience with SAP Business Objects, SAP Data Services, Ektron, SharePoint desired
Experience with structured development methodology desired
Experience with source control tools (Serena or similar) desired
Experience with Cognos OLAP technology desired
Understanding of automated batch schedulers (e.g. Silvertron’s ESP) desired
Certifications Desired: Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MSCE), Ektron CMS Certification
Knowledge and Skills:
SQL Server, TSQL, DTS, SSIS, ETL, HTML, XML, MS Word, MS Visio, MS Visual Basic, VBScript, MS Access
Strong MS Excel
SAP DS (Data Integration and Data Quality), Ektron, Microsoft .Net, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Cognos 7.5 desired
Excellent verbal and written communication skill
Excellent understanding Business Intelligence and Business Analytics
Ability to manage medium size projects, from user requirements through implementation.
Proven ability to deliver assignments w/in established (at times short) deadlines.
Fluent with database design concepts and SQL
Understanding of enterprise data warehouse methodologies
Must be self-motivated, possess excellent verbal & written communication skills, and attention to detail.
Knowledge of reporting systems and project management methodology
Proven ability to expand knowledge and work across teams. Experience with working with on and offshore sourcing teams desired
Excellent problem resolution skills and define a problem.
Ability to create and implement the correct solution to problems in a timely manner. Specifically: identifying/resolving data inconsistencies; identifying/resolving batch cycle inconsistencies is a plus
Team Lead experience, the ability to keep abreast of new technological developments and industry trends desired.
