  Job Description

  Provides first line leadership tasked with delivering the D5LE2 Requirements contract deliverables and programmatic system level support for developmental weapon system configurations. You will be responsible for the maintenance of requirements and other systems engineering deliverables needed for system level reviews. The selected candidate will be responsible for the technical execution of your team on all contractual deliveries and accountable to the Program Area Manager for Systems Engineering.

  Provide personnel with day-to-day direction. Plans, directs, and participates in activities associated with delivering the requirements contract deliverables. Plans and directs the execution of all designated requirements functions required to support the SSP Program through the maintenance of existing and development of future weapon system platforms and other areas under your direct cognizance, or as directed by the Program Area Manager. Your team will largely be focused on the development of requirements into a future toolset, which you will have to facilitate/manage. You will be responsible for supporting the development of short-range and long-range plans and schedules to support the current technical effort and anticipated future work. Additionally, you will be responsible for baselining these plans with the customer, statusing these plans with the customer, and negotiating changes to the plans with the customer. As leader of your team, you will be expected to escalate topics relevant to your team in presentations that will be presented to the customers at various level meetings.

  Responsiveness to customer (internal and external) requirements, maintains and fosters positive customer relationships, and has sensitivity to customer expectations in a dynamic work environment. Regularly interfaces with customer representatives to support execution of current technical task(s) and planning for future activities. Any actions assigned to you or your team should be addressed early or on time. Your team will often be tasked with impact reviews, and you will need to ensure the deadlines for those reviews are met and team priorities are clear.

  Ensures personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform duties effectively. You will identify successors for all key technical positions within your section. Sets technical and performance objectives with subordinates and conduct performance appraisals. Maintains leave schedules for direct reports.

  Perform supervisory duties including, but not limited to: hiring, training, timekeeping, travel, performance evaluations, counseling, and disciplining employees. Ensure all personnel are informed of and adhere to all pertinent Company policies and procedures. Ensures adherence to plans, processes, work instructions, and other local policies. Take part in continuous process improvement opportunities to improve process efficiency. Maintain a safe workplace environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.

  For work assigned to the section: track schedule and other metrics as defined in Program/Project plans. Develop section related Basis of Estimates (BOE), Contract Statement of Work (SOW), Contract Deliverable Requirement Lists (CDRL), and other contract related items. You may prepare technical studies, reports, and proposals in support of project development goals.

  Plans and schedules own activities as well as meeting BAE Systems behavior and ethical standards. You will share responsibility for self-development of skills and capabilities with your immediate supervisor.

  Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  Typical education and years of related/relevant work experience required: Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or similar and 6 years' related/relevant work experience. However, candidates with equivalent years of related Navy experience will be considered, in lieu of the degree.

  Successful candidate must also have the following skill/experience:

  Demonstrated ability to achieve high results

  Experience with use of interpersonal skills (e.g., ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, and customers)

  Ability to coach and mentor employees

  High degree of personal drive and initiative

  Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  Experience with the Strategic Weapon System, Subsystems, and components

  Knowledge of systems engineering concepts as they apply to Weapon System Requirements Specifications and Strategic Systems Programs

  Demonstrated leadership experience with minimum of 3 years of supervisor/manager experience

  knowledge in the use of DOORS, Windchill, SysML Modeling

  Pay Information

  Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070

  Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
