A Day in the Life
A Cyber Security Engineer is key in analyzing cybersecurity events and cyber investigations and enhancing our security posture through innovation, creativity, and teamwork.
Work involves monitoring and responding to alerts, optimizing detection capabilities, evaluating cybersecurity measures, proposing improvement solutions, and staying current on risk management techniques.
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will work with the Infrastructure Team to ensure appropriate risk management processes are in place and maintain a commitment to the team and organization's success in meeting business objectives. Our team is committed to supporting ideas and proposals centered on continuous improvement.
A significant amount of time will be dedicated to operating several network and endpoint security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, networking, vulnerability scanning, and patch management. Resulting from pen testing and various findings, carry out risk mitigation efforts.
A Cyber Security Engineer might be asked to create custom SIEM alerts to enhance detection and response capabilities, escalate incidents and conduct investigations with our SOC team, enhance patch management solutions, participate in penetration testing, and implement new cybersecurity solutions.
Job Responsibilities Include but not Limited to:
Enhance the security of our information systems by continuously monitoring security operations and implementing measures to reduce risks.Review security logs, investigate any issues, report, and take necessary steps to resolve them.Perform vulnerability scanning and address any identified issues.Participate in penetration testing and remediate findings.Maintain Identity Access Management systems, and implement new capabilities.Harden cloud infrastructure and create IAAS/PAAS systems with cybersecurity best practices.Participate in various security assessments and disaster recovery testing.The annual pay range for this full-time position is $86,000 - $111,800 DOE.
