Essential Functions Maintains heating ventilation and air conditioning systems; monitors door security system; monitors facility usage for events held on school properties for events and proper functions held within the schools; monitors lighting control system; activates and deactivates alarm system; monitors automated building controls and mechanical equipment. Cleans, scrubs, strips, waxes, buffs and sweeps floors; vacuums carpets; responds to emergency clean-ups; replaces lights and ballasts; performs minor plumbing repairs; keeps custodial and maintenance room clean and well maintained; replaces lighting as needed; unloads school supplies and equipment. Performs and assists with repairs and maintenance; monitors boiler operations and reports concerns; monitors cooling system and heating software to maintain temperate conditions; assists with snow and ice removal; repairs locks and doors as required. Provides work direction to custodial staff and general contractors. Provides information to the public when using facilities on safety and appropriate use; assists with the set-up and take-down of events and activities. Monitors inventory levels. Cleans entire school during summer months.
