SOUTH HADLEY Custodian Position Type: Staff Full-time Hours per week: 40Weeks per year: 52 Work Schedule: Sunday 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. andMonday through Thursday 4:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Department Summary & JobPurpose: The Facilities Management department supports theadministration, faculty, staff, and students in the quality planning anddevelopment of facilities projects that support our mission. Ourtalented staff of approximately 140 Full-Time employees (FTEs)(Cleaning, Mechanical Trades, Central Heating Plant, Grounds, Carpentry,Stockroom, EH&S, Fleet Services, and Mail Services & Duplication) areresponsible for more than 2,000,000 square feet (SF) of property in over60+ major buildings and for maintaining more than 300 acres. Thisposition is responsible for the cleanliness of all academic buildings,administrative offices, and all other buildings as assigned. Core JobDuties and Responsibilities: General cleaning tasks at campus buildingsSweeping, vacuuming, and washing floors Emptying waste receptaclesCleaning and disinfecting restroom toilets, sinks, countertops, mirrors,showers, and high-touch surfaces We ensure to remove dust and dirt bycleaning, shining furniture, fixtures, and dusting. Communicate buildingand safety concerns, report the need for repair or services Assignmentsrelated to the removal of snow. Perform any other tasks orresponsibilities that are assigned. Qualifications: High School orequivalent Must be able to adhere to a detailed cleaning program Must bewilling to work some weekends and holidays Must be flexible for on-callassignments and snow shoveling detail Must be able to lift up to 50pounds A willingness to perform other duties as assigned PreferredQualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with previouscleaning experience. License/Certifications: Valid U.S. driver\'slicense
