Position Overview:
The purpose of J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. (J-U-B) is Helping Each OtherCreate Better Communities. We are hiring a Cultural Resources Specialist Lead/Seniorto work for our Environmental Services Group.
As a valued member of the J-U-B Environmental Services Group, theincumbent professional provides expert services in archaeology,architectural, and cultural resources inventory, evaluation, reportingand consultation. The positions primary role is to identify affectedcultural resources in and around project sites, and assist agencies incompleting regulatory compliance and identifying and implementingmeasures to avoid or minimize adverse effects.
Plans, conducts, and oversees archaeological and architectural ClassIIII assessments for various types of planning and engineering projects.
Represents J-U-B as a cultural resource professional at meetings withclients, sponsors, agencies, Tribal governments, and organizations.
Conducts National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis, authorscultural resource and other resource sections of NEPA documents andprovides subject matter input for cultural resource concerns.
Assists private, municipal, state, federal, and Tribal clients inmeeting federal, state, Tribal, and local cultural resource compliancerequirements as they apply to specific projects.
Prepares and tailors cultural resource investigations, reports, andrelated services for regulatory compliance and provides expert guidancefor consultation with the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) andTribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO).
Ensures compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)and related federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating topreserving cultural and historic sites on projects assigned, to includeexpertise in assisting agencies in required consultation with the SHPO,Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, federally recognized Tribes,cooperating agencies, and other interested stakeholders.
Assists in the preparation of Section 4(f) documentation (23 CFR Part774).
Develops a cultural resource program within J-U-Bs EnvironmentalServices Group structure; may supervise employees in the future.
Manages and assists in preparing scopes of work and cost estimates andthen manages cultural resource contracts.
Manages projects from conception to completion, interacting with clientsto successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget.
