Job Summary
As Java Developer you will provide the necessary documentation to support the Software Development Life Cycle, develop prototypes and solutions and apply modern methodologies, tools and systemic processes to support the launch of new business capabilities.
Job Description
We are looking for a Java Developer. This position will be a full-time and remote contract opportunity.
What You’ll Do
Encode, test, and debug associated software/ programs
Review, analyze, and modify core and customized software
Respond to customer inquiries/requests for technical/operational support
Resolve technical matters to meet customer service level agreements
Perform root cause analysis/fixes or corrective action of defects
Follow documented Software Development Life-Cycle standards
Participate in special projects and training, as required
Escalate issues to senior levels as required
This position is full-time and may require after hours or on-call support including, but not limited weekends and evenings
What You'll Need
Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding in the following areas: Java technologies using Java 1.4 and greater, JSP,XML: Web Technologies, such as HTML, JavaScript
Understanding of web services technologies such as REST, HTTPS, JSON
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, work instructions, process maps and/or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of internal and external customers
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Basic understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards
Customer service driven
Strong team player

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
