Job Summary
This position\'s primary function will be the construction andvalidation of plasmids for plant transformation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Construction and validation of DNA constructsOrganizing and maintaining chemical and biological stocksLab documentation and maintenance of construct stages in therelevant databasesPreparation and maintenance of media/buffers/reagents/stocksolutionsDistributing plasmids between RIPE membersUpdating and communicating the status of ordersAdditional Physical Demands
Environmental Demands: Willingness to perform routine repetitive tasksin a laboratory with non-hazardous materials.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Biology or related disciplineExperience: Experience in molecular cloning, PCR, restriction digest
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master\'s degree in Molecular Biology or related discipline
Experience: Experience in Golden-Gate cloning and/or automated liquidhandling automation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required: Knowledge of molecular cloning, PCR, lab documentation,excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills, andability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred: Knowledge of electronic lab notebooks (Benchling), Sangersequencing/sequence alignments, and automation techniques.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible afterclose date. The minimum salary for this position is \$48,000 and iscommensurate with experience and qualifications.
