Work as part of a team providing crisis intervention to meet the needsof members of the community and Certified Community Behavioral HealthClinic (CCBHC) patients who are in crisis. This includes responding totelephone calls on crisis intervention lines. Assess current level ofdangerousness for clients who report a psychiatric crisis both by phoneand in-office. Provide crisis case management services applying CCBHCpractices, as needed. Work with adults and children to see thatcommunity resources are in place to meet the current needs of theclient. Provide emergency services on a short-term basis. Assist withefficient functioning of the Emergency Services Office. Support suicideprevention efforts in the community while upholding the mission andvision of COMCARE of Sedgwick County.
Direct Service.
Provide direct service to clients in responding to telephone callson multiple crisis intervention phone lines while concurrentlydocumenting calls.Address the immediate needs of walk-in/cop-in clients who present inthe office with a psychiatric crisis.Transport clients to the hospital when applicable and necessary.Provide crisis stabilization services to individuals experiencing amental health crisis while they are in the Crisis Stabilization Unit(CSU).Conduct risk assessments as needed to address safety of clients.Support consumer achieve treatment goals, coordinate with collateralcontacts, medication education, crisis management, prompt client tocomplete daily living activities, monitor client one to one forsafety or as needed.Provide transportation to support client attendance in medicalappointments and other therapeutic goal related activities toinclude development of community resources, employment or educationaccess, social or consumer-run activities and related supports.Documentation.
Complete all progress notes in accordance with CCBHC and COMCAREguidelines which meet requirements for medical necessity,goal-directed treatment and client response to treatment withinprescribed timelines.Documentation meets minimum Medicaid standards for content andquality.General Administrative Duties.
Processing Medicaid, state hospital, Level II and PRTF screens asthey are received in the Emergency Services office and recording thescreen/s on the Emergency Services (ES) office electronic board.Processing half-slips for walk-in and cop-in clients, includingentering client information onto the ES office electronic board in atimely manner.Provide comprehensive mental health treatment and secure thenecessary COMCARE consents to release information. Submit necessaryreferral forms to team supervisor for approval or assignment inelectronic health record (EHR).Minimum Qualifications as defined by classification: Bachelors degree orbe equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of workexperience in the human services field and education, with one year ofexperience substituting for one year of education. If no degree ispresent, applicant may substitute each one year of experience for oneyear of education. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving levelposition that requires a valid US drivers license without restrictionsand current proof of automobile insurance. Must be able to safelyoperate a motor vehicle and meet driver qualification standards as setforth in Sedgwick Countys Fleet Vehicle Operation and Usage policy. Musthave access to personal passenger vehicle to complete the driving dutiesof the position. Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC/CCBHClicensing standards and pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, adult abuseregistry, a d motor vehicle screens. Must complete orientations providedby Sedgwick County and COMCARE.
