  In this position, you will serve as the Crisis Management Specialist in the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Center. The EDI Center‘s mission is to advance the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion to create the conditions for building authentic cross-cultural communities where harm is eliminated and every person‘s humanity is acknowledged and valued. In this position, you will provide educational leadership, program development, training, consultation, and resources to increase the capacity and subject matter expertise around culturally responsive school mental health crisis management practices for school leaders, teachers, and student support staff. You will:

  Lead the statewide school mental health crisis management program, ensuring compliance with School Crisis Response Minnesota Statute 119A.035;

  Provide professional development, guidance, technical assistance, and resources including prevention guidance and early and targeted interventions;

  Lead and manage the Safe and Supportive Minnesota Schools Act complaint process from initial intake to resolution with culturally responsive methods that amplify the voice of the students, parents and educators and promotes positive social, emotional, and behavioral skills;

  Complete investigations for formal complaints of noncompliance with the school bullying prohibition policy and/or the Safe and Supportive Minnesota Schools Act.

  Minimum Qualifications

  5 years of professional experience developing or leading mental health programs and initiatives in/for K-12 settings

  OR

  A bachelor‘s or master‘s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field and 4 years of professional experience developing or leading mental health programs and initiatives in/for K-12 settings

  Qualifications must include:

  Prevention, intervention and/or postvention experience related to school mental health crisis response, i.e., death of a student or staff member, suicide attempt or completion, substance abuse, active shooter drill support, automobile accident, natural disaster, and medical emergencies.

  Experience developing and facilitating professional development for leaders and educators

  Preferred Qualifications

  Experience with complaint intake and resolution via phone and email

  Experience conducting student conduct investigations

  Experience developing or leading critical incident response systems

  Community engagement with diverse populations experience

  Experience coaching and/or mentoring leaders and educators to increase effectiveness

  Experience with evidence-based and equity-focused practices related to school mental health
