Compensation and Schedule for the Credit Balance Specialist
Credit Balance Specialist – Full-time, work-from-home after training, $22-$25 per hour, Monday – Friday, flexible start time between 6:00am and 8:00am after training. Great benefits at a hospital with a strong reputation!
Required Qualifications of the Credit Balance Specialist
2+ years of recent credit balance experience required
High school diploma or GED required
Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Responsibilities of the Credit Balance Specialist
Research insurance and patient credit balances to ensure balance is accurate
Monitor payor performance, identify trends, and review with Management
Initiate refunds/recoups within payor and corporate guidelines to ensure compliance measures are maintained
Research and coordinate all actions needed to resolve the outstanding credit balance
Read and interpret explanation of benefits (EOB) and demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of policies and procedures for the area
Contact insurance companies when they are not compliant with contract terms to resolve issues/problems as they arise related to overpayments
Research all refund requests from insurance companies
Prepare refund packets for all insurance company requests
Pull necessary payor EOBs and supporting data and mails to insurance companies in a timely manner, or as designated by the payor
