  DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will be responsible for analyzing crash data, which encompasses data from wrong-way crashes, cross-median crashes, and vulnerable road users (VRU) like pedestrians, cyclists, motorcycles, and more. Additionally, you will also review assessments of low-cost safety improvement projects and analyze right turn on red (RTOR) projects.

  This internship will allow you to develop your technical skills, apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, and work alongside engineering professionals who are passionate about innovation and excellence.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.Compensation is credit based:Up to 48 credits - $20.3549-90 credits $20.7891-120 credits $21.22You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSStudents who are interested in a PennDOT internship must meet all of the following requirements:Full-time enrollment in college (carrying 12 or more undergraduate credits, or 9 or more graduate credits) or Part-time enrollment in college (registered for a minimum of six credits).Enrolled part or full-time for the next semester by the start of the internship in an applicable major.In good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).Must be at least 18 years of ageCompletion of the first year of a two-year associate degree or four-year bachelor's degree program.Special Requirement: Certain positions require a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.Additional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.Preferred Majors:Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.If you do not meet these requirements but are still interested in a summer position with PennDOT, please see the Student Summer Worker job posting to explore additional job opportunities.
