PASSAGES, Inc. is looking for a full-time Counselor/Advocate to work with survivors of sexual violence in our Clearfield County area. Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Development and Family Studies or related field, or appropriate professional experience preferably in this field or appropriate professional experience of no less than one year. Must be able to provide counseling to both children and adults. Must have exceptional listening skills. Must work independently yet compatibly with others. Must be proficient in computer skills and knowledge. Must have reliable transportation. Must complete PASSAGES, Inc. sexual assault counselor training and obtain PA Criminal History Clearance (Act 34), PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act151), and FBI Fingerprint clearances. Duties: The Counselor/Advocate is responsible to the Executive Director and shall perform the following duties:
Provide supportive counseling to individuals and groups.Provide coverage for crisis hotline. Provide emergency crisis intervention and/or accompaniment to clients as needed.Provide after-hour on-call coverage when neededAttend and participate in scheduled case management meetings.Provide victim medical advocacy and accompaniment for emergency medical care and/or forensic exams at medical facilities, including Child Advocacy Centers.Provide victim legal advocacy and accompaniment for law enforcement and Child Advocacy Centers interviews. This can also include victim compensation assistance, information about the criminal justice process, information about victim rights, assistance with victim impact statements, and guiding/assisting clients through the SVPO/PFI court process and enter information into the PFAD system.Make referrals to other victim service programs and other services, supports, and resources.Provide interpreter services for victims in need.Provide individual advocacy that facilitates the client's negotiation of systems encountered as a result of being impacted by sexual violence.Provide in-person crisis intervention, including safety planning.Abide by all standards/practices set forth in the PASSAGES Counselor Manual.Maintain individual client files according to standards set forth in the PASSAGES Counselor Manual.Meet with Executive Director on an individual basis to monitor progress of performance goals.Compile service statistics and provide that information to the Direct Services Supervisor in a timely manner for submission to relevant funding sources.Establish and maintain outreach-counseling locations. Provide services at these locations.Function as an agency liaison with appropriate systems such as health care, mental health, law enforcement and criminal justice to promote a cooperative effort in meeting the needs of victims.Conduct community outreach activities.Attend meetings as directed by the Executive Director.Assist in conducting the PASSAGES, Inc. forty-hour sexual assault counselor training.```{=html}
