  Location: Eagan, MN

  Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm

  Essential DutiesThe following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.• Provide supervision to counseling staff and assistance with case management of clients admitted to the program• Provides oversight with the screening and interviewing of clients for appropriateness of admission to the program• Ensures that the treatment program provides quality clinical services.• Audits charts for compliance including the signing off on all ADC Trainees and student interns' progress notes, reviews, treatment plans, transfers, and service termination documents• Determine the need for the discharge of clients per the policies of the program and give appropriate direction to staff members to carry out the directive• Lead weekly supervision meetings and assure that meetings are documented.• Monitoring the adherence to site policies and procedures while providing coaching for continued quality improvement. • The Counselor Supervisor may admit or transfer clients. Discharges are directed by the process outlined in the service termination policy.• May provide supervision and oversight to ADC-Trainee and alcohol and drug counseling interns.

  All Counselors (LADC / ADC-T) will be skilled in performing the 12 core functions

  Knowledge of Minnesota Matrix Six Dimensions and ASAM guidelines.

  Awareness of cultural diversity and demonstration of sensitivity to various cultural norms and values.

  Assists clients in maintaining county or 3rd party payer mechanisms and communicating clinical criteria to payers for appropriate services.

  Obtain funding authorization.

  Attend all staff in services and meetings.

  Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions• The Individual will be an alcohol and drug counselor either licensed or exempt from licensure under Minnesota Statutes, chapter 148F. An alcohol and drug counselor must document competence in screening for and working with clients with mental health problems, through education, training, and experience.• The individual has three or more years of experience providing individual and group counseling to chemically dependent clients.• The individual knows and understands the implications of parts 9530.6405 to 9530.6505 and Minnesota Statutes, sections 245A.65, 626.556, 626.557, and 626.5572.• Must document 12 hours of training in co-occurring mental health problems and chemical abuse of dependency that includes competencies related to philosophy, screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, documentation, programming, medication, collaboration, mental health consultation, and discharge planning. • Computer literate.
