　　Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications for taking the Open Competitive Examination: must have had three years of investigative experience, at least one year of which must have been in the criminal justice field.Substitution: An associate's degree may be substituted for up to one year of the general experience; a bachelor's degree for up to two years of the general experience:Qualifying Experience:1. Investigative experience - Experience in such areas as routine police patrol, guard, credit checking, tax collection or positions primarily concerned with inspections is not considered qualifying.2. Criminal Justice field - In order for experience to be accepted, investigative experience must have been gained while employed by a criminal justice agency or must have been involved with the enforcement of criminal law.Additional Requirements: You must be legally eligible to carry firearms. Conviction of a felony will bar examination and appointment, because under Federal law an unpardoned felon is ineligible to carry firearms. Because of the duties of the position, a thorough background investigation will be made.
