PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Providehands-on Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL) instruction in the safeoperation of a commercial motor vehicle in accordance with local, state,and federal regulations Evaluate students individually on theiroperational skills and assess their progress during each trainingevaluation according to course curriculum Counsel students as neededregarding skill issues and adherence to DOT regulations Train studentsin areas of weakness through constructive feedback and adult learningprocesses Maintain accurate student attendance and progress records inaccordance with federal regulations Ensure all instructional materialsare appropriate and assist in the development, revision, andimplementation of curriculum in traditional and alternative deliveryformat Must meet all state and federal driver qualifications Model andverify safe behaviors Support the reduction of collision and risk ofinjury through demonstration and verification of safety requirementswhen in and around tractor trailers Demonstrate proper equipmentmaintenance Monitor and coach students on their skills on the CDLsimulator prior to hands-on training Maintain proficient knowledge andskill in emerging trends and current occupational practices bynetworking with regional industry leaders and participating incontinuing education and professional development. Assist in thedevelopment of adjunct faculty through communication, sharing ofresources, coaching, and mentoring Other Requirements Strongorganizational skills, interpersonal skills, teamwork, and ability toprioritize multiple tasks while remaining customer-focused Ability towork independently, remain flexible in a fast-paced environment, andhandle customer issues in a timely manner Flexible working hours; day,evening and possibly weekends required Must hold a valid driver\'slicense and be insurable under the district\'s standard insurance policyterms.
