Description

　　We are looking for a talented attorney to support Amazon’s growing retail business. You will work directly with your business partners on a broad range of commercial matters and regulatory issues.

　　Key job responsibilities

　　Managing regulatory compliance for Amazon retail businesses, including liaising with federal and state agencies on a variety of issues and products and developing and implementing long-term strategic planning.

　　Providing day-to-day legal support to business teams and developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, efficient, and business-centric ways.

　　Helping your business teams launch new features and product categories.

　　Serving as lead counsel in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.

　　Resolving issues arising in existing commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one state bar.

　　5+ years of legal experience as a transactional, litigation, or regulatory attorney.

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Prior experience advising on product regulatory compliance matters.

　　Prior experience engaging with federal or state regulators.

　　Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.

　　Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.

　　Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a large number of projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines.

　　Team player and consensus builder who can effectively collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business leaders throughout the organization.

　　Business acumen combined with the ability to identify optimal solutions, including novel, creative and innovative solutions to complex issues.

　　Strong analytical and communication skills.

　　Some ability to travel as needed.

　　Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
