Position Purpose:

This position represents the Company in legal claims, lawsuits, litigation, and regulatory matters. The ultimate objective of this position is to minimize the legal exposure of the Company in any such legal matters. Advises and consults with managers and other departments on various legal issues and educates internal clients on proactive measures and approaches to reducing all potential legal exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

Prosecutes and defends business claims and lawsuits involving Home Depot.

Conducts internal investigations.

Collaborates and interacts with outside counsel regarding claims and lawsuits.

Advises various departments and managers on a diverse range of legal issues.

Supervises and conducts appropriate legal research for all pending legal work.

May manage and track budgets.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

Typically reports to an Assistant General Counsel.

Areas of specialization are commercial litigation, including class action and complex litigation, antitrust, tax, IP, regulatory, real estate, construction, and internal investigations.

Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.Working Conditions:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

Significant experience litigating commercial litigation matters, including consumer class actions and MDL proceedings; substantive experience in litigating antitrust, tax, IP, regulatory, construction, and real estate matters; experience in conducting internal investigations.Minimum Education:

The ability to develop, organize, implement and manage standard procedures and train outside counsel and paralegals in the procedures.
