About the Team:
The People Connect team centralizes all our People Operations globally. As an extension of the HR Business Partner team, this team is critical to an excellent employee experience. The People Connect team is a strategic enablement partner that serves as the foundation to the People function at Dow Jones, setting high standards, establishing processes and applying best practices. We drive self-service and resolution to HR related queries and own the employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Director, People Connect, this role is responsible for delivering first line HR advice and services to the Dow Jones business. You will deliver quality, effective and timely HR advice and case management support to internal customers as a team member through a ticketing platform, face-to-face, phone and email support providing excellent HR customer service to employees across the company.
You Will:
This internship offers a great human resources experience learning and working in a dynamic global People team. You will work closely with the AMER/EMEA People Connect team to deliver great employee experience and HR service and offer the best HR solutions for our employees and managers in the region.
Areas where the summer internship would focus are:
Gain an HR lifecycle learning experience through HR practical operations and compliance knowledge building
Assist and support new hire orientation session
Support the creation of guides and documentation to educate the team managers and employees
Attend Exit Interviews where possible, and review data to understand trends
Learn and support the regular data audits
Become familiar with Workday functionality and enter transactions and check correct input
Become familiar and learn about our internal ticketing system
You Have:
Completed at least 2 years of education toward your Bachelor's in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Management, Social Studies
Communication Skills: Ability to articulate thoughts clearly, both in writing and verbally
Interpersonal Skills: Building positive relationships with colleagues and understanding diverse perspectives
Organizational Skills: Managing tasks efficiently, handling multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines
Attention to Detail: Being meticulous in handling HR records, data, and paperwork
Adaptability: Flexibility in responding to changing situations and priorities
Problem Solving: Analyzing situations, identifying issues, and proposing effective solutions
Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with team members and across departments
Confidentiality: Maintaining discretion and handling sensitive information with care
