About Corporate Counsel

  We are seeking a highly motivated attorney to join Tradeweb’s U.S. legal team as Corporate Counsel in New York. As Corporate Counsel, you will play a crucial role in partnering with Tradeweb’s business functions to support the company’s growth while appropriately managing its risk. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented attorney with a desire to handle a wide range of matters, including drafting and negotiating commercial and licensing agreements, managing corporate processes and counseling Tradeweb business and corporate teams on legal matters of all kinds (e.g., commercial, transactional, intellectual property, employment, privacy, cyber and risk).

  Job Responsibilities

  Draft and negotiate commercial contracts and other legal documents

  Partner with the business teams to understand their strategic and commercial initiatives, and advise and provide legal support to find appropriate solutions

  Collaborate with and support the technology, human resources, marketing, cyber security, risk and finance departments on a range of topics including employee relations, data privacy, intellectual property and financial compliance

  Manage legal queries from colleagues to ensure we are prioritizing the most urgent and critical needs of the company

  Foster positive relationships with external counsel, client legal departments or other similar third parties, to build relationships, find solutions and best represent Tradeweb’s business interests

  Contribute to legal team’s overall efforts to drive the continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures by identifying efficiencies and simplifying workflows and improving on form agreements

  Qualifications

  Juris Doctorate with license to practice law in a U.S. state (New York or New Jersey preferred)

  2-4 years of experience in private practice at a large law firm (significant relevant experience as an in-house corporate generalist will also be considered), with a background in corporate/transactional work preferred

  Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to strategically draft and negotiate agreements, as well as communicate in a clear, concise and business-friendly manner

  Highly organized, detail-oriented and execution-focused, with the ability to work independently on many different matters simultaneously and prioritize tasks in line with business goals

  Ability to exercise discretion in handling highly sensitive and confidential information

  Creative and flexible thinker with the ability to quickly absorb new concepts and challenge accepted ideas

  Ability and desire to take initiative in a cross-functional role within a broader legal team

  The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $200,000 to $220,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
