The Opportunity
Delaware North is hiring a Corporate Accountant to join our Global Business Services finance team at our Global Headquarters in Buffalo, New York. As a Corporate Accountant, you will assist with ongoing compliance with the new lease accounting standard, recommend and mitigates company risks by implementing appropriate controls and processes to successfully perform accounting procedures including managing the annual external audit process.
Pay
Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $58458 - $66800 / year
In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities
Coordinate with financial reporting, unit, and subsidiary management in the preparation and review of monthly financial results and annual financial statements.
Execute strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls.
Support the management of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.
Support company subsidiaries with ongoing compliance related to the new lease accounting standard.
Provide coaching and/or mentoring to Global Business Services personnel.
Translate strategy into operational goals and objectives.
Support annual plan and projection process for business, provide insightful review of year-over-year changes and recommends areas of focus to improve operating margins.
Research accounting literature to determine the appropriate accounting treatment for transactions as they arise.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
1-2 years of accounting experience.
Certified Public Accountant or intent to obtain CPA a plus.
Understanding of Finance and Accounting processes.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office and PeopleSoft Financials or similar accounting software.
Facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication.
