The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.
This position will allow the Student to assist with Core Systems Engineering for innovative programs.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Assist supervisor with administrative work, such as Computer application ID creation, DNG (DOORS Next Generation) work tasks, and review creation.
Assist Systems Engineer with vehicle calibration work, vehicle driving, EPS part procurement and modification.
Support Core System Feature Engineers with requirement creation and modification. Drafting Process and procedures work instructions. Template creation in DNG.
Aid System Architects with tools support for Rhapsody and Architecture Management and system architecture modifications.
Special Skills, preferred:
Proficient written and verbal communication skills, ability to interface effectively with people, high motivation, and organized.
Experienced in Microsoft Software and has strong computer skills.
Willingness to learn new computer programs such as DOORS, DNG and Rhapsody.
Knowledge of Canape, C programming or Matlab/Simulink experience preferred but not necessary.
Requirements:
Candidate must be attending a 4-year university local to Saginaw
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
Up to 40 in the summer
Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
Candidate must have the right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
Candidate must allow for flexible scheduling
