Job Description:
The position coordinates the Writing Commons programming at Ohio University. The Writing Commons services provide quality tutorial services for undergraduate and graduate students on any writing assignment/project offered on Ohio University campuses. Writing tutors pass on their knowledge and writing strategies to students and deepen their own understanding of course material. The coordinator manages the program details and works collaboratively throughout the university to identify courses in need of support, partner with faculty, manage student staff, and communicate the services to students.
The person in this position will:
1) Manage all aspects of the Writing Commons services including face to face and online services
2) Provide direct supervision of graduate assistants and student staff members
3) Provide data for tutor certifications; assist Director with program assessment and evaluation every semester
4) Collaborate with academic departments and faculty on academic support opportunities
for students
Minimum Qualifications:
A master’s degree in Education or related field.
Two years related work experience.
Must have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds. Experience working with adult learning principles; supervision and training; and office administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a peer tutor and/or applying learning assistance models and tutoring practices in higher education.

Advertised Salary:
The full salary range for Pay Grade 15 is $40,296 to $62,459. The targeted salary range for this position is $40,296 to $45,837 depending on candidate’s qualifications and experience while considering internal equity.
