Job Description Summary:
To coordinate and implement student related activities and functions to enhance the growth and development of all students by providing social, cultural and educational opportunities for all students to engage with the campus and the community.
Essential Duties :
Coordinates all student related activities and functions. Researches, recommends, develops and implements programs and activities in conjunction with other student life employees.
Promotes, organizes and coordinates campus special events, such as diversity programming initiatives including: Hispanic Heritage Week, Black Heritage Week, German Heritage Week and Multi-Cultural Appreciation week and other activities.
Maintains appropriate contact with all clubs and organization sponsors, faculty, staff and residence life to ensure the student population as a whole is engaged in campus life.
Monitors all club account budgets, travel request, sponsor stipend disbursements, and resource requests.
Provides oversight for student organization/club program
Serve as co-adviser of Student Government Association

Responsible for club/organization bi-annual training workshops
Responsible for tracking all programming budgets and the goal/assessment results related to student activities, student orientation, and the Student Center
Maintain a positive relationship with other college services located in the student center including food service, police, and the bookstore
Coordinate with the Marketing department to ensure promotional materials are printed and distributed around campus to promote SLA events
Ensure SLA webpage is up-to-date with the most current club meeting times, contact, and descriptions
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree
2+ years of student affairs experience
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to: the community college mission and purpose; teaching and learning; high academic standards; and, student success.
Knowledge and experience using integrated software systems and Microsoft applications (with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint presentation and Publisher.
Must have the ability to direct, supervise, coordinate and evaluate student activities programs on the collegiate level
Proven leadership and organizational skills
Must possess strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
Position requires flexible work hours
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with instructors, staff, administration, students, the general public, the business and professional communities
Ability to multi-task and delegate responsibilities among staff
General knowledge of college operations including instructional programs, student services and fiscal management
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree
1+ years of educational work experience, either administrative or instructional
Community College teaching/ program administration experience
Salary Range: $43,028 yr
Campus: Brenham
