  Position Summary:

  Plans and manages educational programs.

  Position Key Accountabilities:

  Plans, coordinates and manages the operations of the education office, which may include staff and equipment.

  Responsible for providing administrative and/or technical support in the development and evaluation of educational components, including but not limited to websites and grading systems.

  Assists course directors in the development of course syllabi and exams. Assists in the production of finished products, setting up and proctoring exams. Evaluates, modifies and updates testing procedures.

  May prepare, maintain, and monitor budget for Educational Programs Office, managing funds for equipment, training, office supplies, etc.

  Serves as liaison between faculty and administrative departments within the University to provide a smooth flow of information. Also liaison between faculty and students regarding grades and non-urgent issues.

  Identifies and alerts course directors and Chairman of possible course related issues to be resolved by faculty and/or department administration.

  May manage Human Resources activities for Educational Programs Office including recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations and salary planning.

  Manage administrative needs of student teaching assistants including personnel issues, payroll and coordination of duties.

  Assists faculty in the development of educational materials using PowerPoint and other software as well as training faculty on the use of the programs on a laptop.

  Performs other duties as assigned.

  Certification/Skills:

  None.

  Minimum Education:

  Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education. Masters degree preferred.

  Minimum Experience:

  Five (5) years related experience in an educational setting with one year in a lead or supervisory role.

  Experience in classroom teaching preferred.

  Physical Requirements:

  Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

  Residency Requirement:

  Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
