The Enterprise Risk Intelligence team is geared toward current college students who have a passion for governance, risk and compliance and an interest in Consumers Energy and the energy industry. The Enterprise Risk Intelligence team at Consumers Energy is a key component in realizing transformational work to manage trends and uncertainties that interject risk that may impact our customers and the company.
What you will do:
Current college students of all levels will work as part of a larger team to provide services and support for Risk Intelligence, Risk Mapping, Credit/Market Risk, and Insurance Risk activities. Risk Management roles are analytical in nature and involve having a naturally inquisitive personality. The work involves working with teams across the company to identify risk and assess the overall impact to the business. Enterprise Risk Intelligence is a uniquely positioned team because it interacts with every organization and area in the business, in addition to peers in other utilities and industries. The Risk organization is embarking on a transformational journey to build a capability in Risk Intelligence in addition to digitizing the risk function. It is an exciting time to join the Risk organization because we are in the process of evaluating our existing tools and processes for opportunities to reduce non-value add activities and automate where we are able, in addition to creating new capabilities. The work will be challenging, equivalent to an entry level role, but in a collaborative team environment where you can learn from industry leaders.
In addition to working alongside full time employees carrying out the Enterprise Risk Intelligence strategy for Consumers Energy, Risk Interns will have the option to participate in a number of additional events within the program, including intern networking events, company tours and the consistently top-ranked event, the Intern Challenge.

This position will be located in Jackson and travel within the State of Michigan may be required. This role could be remote, in person, or hybrid. Leaders will discuss the work arrangements which best fit the nature of the work along with overall business needs.
