  JOB OVERVIEW:

  Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.

  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.

  Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over prepare estimated needs.

  Date all food containers and rotate as per Crescent standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.

  Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out-of stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked.

  Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.

  Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per Crescent standards.

  Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.

  Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

  Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

  REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  Ability to communicate both written and verbally

  Ability to "prep" food products, using standardized food preparation techniques.

  Skill to use hand tools or machines needed for work. Measure, cut, or otherwise work onmaterials or objects with great precision.

  Ability to read and follow recipes of items to be prepared.

  Maintain the work area, including all counter tops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in aclean and sanitary condition in accordance with state, county, and company health regulationsand work safety regulations.

  Ensure that all food is stored in proper containers and at proper storage and holdingtemperature in accordance with local food safety standards.

  Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations.

  Must be able to show initiative in job performance including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.

  Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

  Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.

  Ability to obtain food handlers certification

  Ability to stand for long periods of time

  Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move items up to 100lbs on a continuous schedule.
