DEERFIELD \$1,000 SIGN ON BONUS Cook The Deerfield Academy Dining Hallis seeking a full-time Cook to work in our award-winning Dining Hall!The typical schedule for this position is 10:30 AM-7:30PM. PrimaryResponsibilities include: Preparing and Cooking various dishes,including meats, vegetables, starches, soups, and other items forservice at both sit-down and cafeteria-style meals; Using commercialkitchen equipment including ovens, steamers, kettles, ranges, fryers,mixers and slicers; Cleaning and sanitize commercial kitchen equipment;clean and sanitize work areas, food storage areas, sinks, carts, racks,and all other areas and items used for food preparation and service;Setting up and maintaining various food stations, buffets, and beverageareas; maintain and sanitize dining tables; serve food for both sit-downand cafeteria-style meal services; Providing excellent customer serviceto all guests in the dining hall and providing direction as needed toFood Service Workers. Qualifications include: Completion of 12th gradeor equivalent; 1 - 3 years of experience in food service, foodpreparation, sanitation, and safety practices in a commercial kitchen;Experience with proper methods of cooking various food items, Ability tomeet schedules and deadlines; ability to understand and follow oral andwritten instructions and communicate effectively; ability to understandhazards and follow safety procedures when using chemicals and equipment;A demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving theneeds of a diverse community. ServSafe certification, or willingness tobecome certified, is a requirement.
