Electrical Controls Engineer - Rosedale, MD

Looking for a dedicated Electrical Controls Engineer to be a part of our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will spearhead the design, development, and implementation of electrical control systems associated with machinery and equipment in the water treatment sector. Key areas of focus include panel design and machine automation. While providing guidance as senior personnel, the engineer should also be adept at complex troubleshooting and programming tasks. Field representation and fostering healthy relations with our clientele will also be integral to this role. As a Controls Engineer you will oversee using Unitronics to design, develop and test systems for the company's manufacturing operations. You will use PLC and HMI programing methods to manufacture the company technologies. It is also preferred that the controls engineer is comfortable with reviewing and approving customer submittals.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and engineer solutions in line with established company practices and standards.
Draft project scopes, preliminary design concepts, and cost estimates. Collect field data and draft project specifications.
Conduct technical analyses to meet design requirements, such as electrical, communication, and motor controls specifics.
Engineer tailored solutions, especially concerning water treatment automation and safety systems.
Craft programs that are efficient, well-documented, and adaptable.
Maintain meticulous records in line with established quality benchmarks.
Generate precise Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Document system, software, and configuration methodologies.
Gauge client needs, address design parameters and engineering challenges, ensuring solutions are timely and within budgetary limits.
Aid sales teams in technical concept elucidation, quotes, and budgeting activities.
Assist the Service Department in diagnosing machine faults and resolving control issues. Availability during off-hours for service needs, including potential travel.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields; or equivalent blend of education and experience.
3-5 years of pertinent experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and comprehension of technical drawings.
Extensive experience with Allen Bradley PLCs (RS Logix 5000,500); UniLogic familiarity is a plus.
HMI / OIT Development skills, preferably with Rockwell or Unistream.
Solid grasp of control and electrical system design for industrial automation, including power, sensor, and communications system specifics.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, self-driven, team-player, and adept at multitasking.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
Sound understanding of mechanical principles.
Flexibility in work hours, including potential emergency responses and occasional out-of-town duties.
Firm understanding and ability to use Unitronics, PLC/HMI, Submittals, Gear motors, Building panels, and Landing wires.
