Description

We are seeking an Interim Controller to join our team in West Covina, California. Working within the banking industry, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, providing financial reporting, and ensuring adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This role entails supervising accounting staff, offering training opportunities, and managing daily operations and close processes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations, including month-end close, quarter-end close, and year-end close

• Monitor and analyze accounting data and review analysis for monthly and quarterly GL account variance

• Supervise accounting functions including Accounts Payable, GL, etc.

• Prepare reports for monthly board meetings and Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) meetings

• Prepare and/or review monthly reports including, but not limited to, financial statements

• Prepare the quarterly FFIEC Call Report and any other required regulatory reports

• Ensure monthly general ledger certifications are completed

• Analyze financial accounts and prepare journal entries as needed

• Review daily journal entries posted by department staff for accuracy

• Ensure all department activities are in accordance with GAAP

• Aid in ensuring all accounting records are accurate and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations

• Assist the department in providing requirements and information needed for internal, external, and regulatory audits

• Analyze and record intercompany relationships and transactions between Bank and Bank Holding Company and ensure proper consolidation and elimination

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is required

• Should be well-versed with ERP Solutions

• Must have a strong understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary

• Auditing skills are a must

• Familiarity with Budget Processes is required

• Knowledge of FFIEC (Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council) is necessary

• Should have experience in Regulatory Reporting

• Must have a strong background in Financial Reporting

• A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role is required
