This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Chesapeake, Virginia region. If you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, you might be right for this position. Key responsibilities
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

Requirements - Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
DCAA experience
Risk management experience
Solid understanding of government contracts
Adeptness in Cash Flow Forecasts
Demonstrated knowledge of budget forecasting
Cash Flow Analysis experience highly desired
Knowledge of Federal Government Contracts
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
CPA/MBA preferred
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
