About Controller

  Description If you are a Controller looking for work where you will have broad business engagement and impact, Robert Half's new position might be right for you! If you can manage the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verify and hold the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively, you might be a good fit for this position. The Controller position will be located in Lexington, Kentucky and is a short-term contract / temporary engagement.   Key responsibilities

  Ongoing monitoring of actual spend against budget, as well as leading actions needed for any expected shortfalls

  Acquire understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

  Analyze and oversee controls to ensure they are effectively designed and operating in partnership with compliance

  Collaborate with various business partners for a variety of program controllership and FP& A activities such as upholding accurate accrual models and appropriate accounting, as well as true-up activities. Also answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers

  Recognize key financial results and movements across programs, then summarize and discuss them with key business partners

  Supervise reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes and tools for the accountable programs

  Support SOX controls through the collation of evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs

  Work closely with Treasury to provide timely cash flow forecasts Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field

  CPA and/or CMA preferredStrong analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

  Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with experience building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and aptitude for influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers

  Experience engaging with teams and providing leadership across finance teams

  Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting

  Proficiency in WIP - Work In Progress

  General familiarity with variance analysis

  SAP experience

  Ad Hoc Reporting experience

  Month end closings experience preferred

  Fixed Asset Accounting experience

  Adeptness in Ad Hoc Reporting

  10+ years professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance

  Working knowledge of ERP system

  Advanced knowledge in office and accounting computer systems

  Ability to manage, lead change and build process improvements
