About Controller

  Description

  Robert Half is looking for a controller for a growing Cincinnati based company. The controller is responsible for month-end close, budgeting and forecasting, and financial reporting.   Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee accounting activities, financial controls and preparation of periodic financial

  statements, forecasts, budgets, and analysis

  • Ensure that reported results comply with GAAP

  • Manage and evaluate the financial data, analyzing the implications of price, inflation

  and efficiency impacts associated with revenue and materials

  Requirements - Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  Excellent oral and written communication skills

  Great attention to detail

  Solid understanding of US GAAP

  General familiarity with Annual Physical Inventory

  Good understanding of Manufacturing Principles

  Well-founded grasp of Annual Physical Inventories

  Practical knowledge of manufacturing

  Solid understanding of GAAP Accounting

  Proven knowledge of Annual Inventory

  Previous experience working with budget forecasting

  Earlier work involving Manufacturing Plants

  Skills in budgeting

  Expertise in Month-end Close Activities

  Strong familiarity with Annual Inventory

  Comprehension of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A)

  Proficiency in Month-end Financial

  Hands-on experience with Corporate Financial Planning

  Foundational knowledge in Annual Physical Inventories

  Knowledge of Annual Standard Cost

  General familiarity with Lean Manufacturing

  Proven knowledge of Monthly Account Reconciliation

  Well-founded grasp of Monthly Accruals

  Solid understanding of month end closings

  Prior experience with Financial Control

  Practical knowledge of Inventory Accounting

  Experience with financial planning

  Quality experience with Manufacturing Cost Accounting

  Month-end Journal Entries experience preferred

  Month-end Reports experience

  Experience with Annual Physical Inventory

  Wide ranging experience with Manufacturing Costs

  Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills

  Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
