Key responsibilities
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations Requirements - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well
Quality experience with QuickBooks
Solid understanding of Full Cycle Accounting
Hands-on experience with Monthly Bank Reconciliation
Good understanding of financial reporting
Wide ranging experience with Microsoft Excel
Comprehension of journal entries
Knowledge of Month-end Close Activities
Earlier work involving Excel Formulas
Skills in financial statement preparation
Well-founded grasp of eCommerce
Month-end Journal Entries experience preferred
Practical knowledge of Retail Wholesale
Month-end Financial experience
Previous experience working with Financial Statement
General familiarity with Wholesale distribution
Experience with bank reconciliations
Solid understanding of Human Resources (HR) Administration
Experience with Month-end Reports
Month end closings experience
Proven knowledge of Controllership
Prior experience with Worker's Compensation
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Detailed and have the ability work independently
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
