We are searching for a Contracts Manager / Senior Contracts Manager to join our legal department.
The candidate will need to be proactive, well-organized and be able to work as part of a small legal department in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively.
This is a hybrid role - our work from home days are Monday and Friday and our in-office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Summary:
The position will involve the review of routine contracts and the day-to-day management of the contracts management system and contracts lifecycle of a biopharmaceutical company transitioning from late stage clinical to commercial.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with contracts management and contracts review, as well as corporate legal support. The candidate will need to be a self-starter since the position will require the candidate to work independently on projects.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day management of the contracts management system and the contracts lifecycle, from initiation to negotiation, execution and filing. Implement and enhance standardized processes for efficient and effective contracts management for a small/mid-sized biopharmaceutical company.
Establish and maintain the centralized repository for contracts. Act as the point of contact for contracts queries and contracts report generation.
Draft and review routine contracts, such as confidentiality agreements, services agreements and statements of work.
Organize and maintain other legal records, including corporate subsidiary filings and state filings. Coordinate the maintenance and accessibility of legal records.
Work with others in the legal department on corporate legal matters as needed. Provide legal administrative support as needed.
Education, Requirements and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 5 years related work experience or recent law school graduates (JDs).
The successful candidate is self-motivated and works well independently, works well in a team-oriented environment, has good communication skills, works with a sense of urgency, has excellent document management skills and takes ownership of their work.
Candidates will have demonstrated experience in contracts management, familiarity with contracts management systems and be able to proactively manage a large number of contracts in a fast-paced environment.
Prior relevant experience in a small/mid-sized biopharmaceutical company is strongly preferred.

Compensation:
An appropriate financial package will be developed for the successful candidate to include a competitive base salary and equity, with a performance related bonus opportunity.
The anticipated salary range for the Manager level is $120,000 - $150,000 and Sr. Manager level is $130,000 - $180,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. CymaBay is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
