Consulting, Senior Director
Intertek is searching for an Consulting, Senior Director to join our People Assurance team in our Austin TX office but this is a remote position that requires travel to client locations. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Consulting!
The Consulting, Senior Director is responsible for managing direct reports including 10 food safety and workplace safety consultants and the Consulting Operations Manager. Position requires 50-75% travel to generate revenue helping clients with GFSI audit preparation for SQF, BRC and FSSC 22000, regulatory compliance with FDA and USDA requirements and teach training classes for PCQI and HACCP.
What you’ll do:
Complete consulting services projects for clients in the areas of HACCP, SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000 and general food safety and quality management to assure compliance with FDA and USDA regulatory and audit standards
Manage team of direct reports for Food Safety Consultants, Workplace Safety EHS Consultants, Consulting Operations Manager and sub-contractors to assure client needs and personnel requirements are met
Coordinate with the VP of Consulting, Director of Consulting, Consulting Operations Manager, Director of Technical Services and other consultants as needed to assure services are delivered as scheduled and clients are satisfied with services provided
Communicate with each Consultant weekly to ensure scheduling and general needs are addressed
Complete bonus performance measurements for each consultant to assess Billings, Utilization and Project Management to determine bonus earnings for each consultant
Complete 10X Journey process, merit increases, onboarding processes and other HR related activities for each direct report
Participate in bi-weekly Consulting Team Meetings and Management Meetings to help manage the Consulting business
Define, complete and execute strategic planning as needed to assure Consulting budget requirements are met
Coordinate with the Consulting Director of Technical Services to assure consultants have necessary technical skills and develop professional development plans for direct reports
Provide support to the Marketing Department to provide thought leadership and participate in Marketing activities such as speaking on webinars, writing blogs and speaking at trade association events
Complete Technical Reviews of reports as needed and delegate assignment of Technical Reviews
Participate in Business Planning, Strategic Meetings, and Marketing initiatives to grow the business and maximize revenue growth for Consulting
What it takes to be successful in this role:
· Bachelors or Masters Degree - preferably with a food science background
· Ability to manage the Consulting Team and perform food safety consulting for clients
· Flexibility to travel 50-75% of the time domestically
· 10+ Years in Quality Assurance Management, Consulting or Auditing Experience. Current certifications as an SQF or BRC Auditor and Preventive Control for Human Food Lead Instructor a plus.
