About Director - Institutional Effectiveness and Research

  Job Summary

  The Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research plays a mission critical role in enhancing the overall effectiveness of the institution by conducting research, analyzing data, and implementing strategies to improve institutional processes. This position involves collaborating with various departments to ensure the continuous improvement of academic, administrative, and support functions. The Director is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data to inform decision-making processes, the College’s Assessment Cycle for Institutional Effectiveness, and preparing/writing/evaluating accreditation reports for the SACSCOC.

  Responsibilities and Duties

  Data Collection and Analysis:

  Design and implement data collection processes to gather information related to institutional effectiveness.

  Conduct thorough analyses of quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

  Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.

  Institutional Research:

  Conduct research on higher education trends, best practices, and benchmarking data to inform institutional planning and decision-making.

  Stay abreast of changes in accreditation standards and compliance requirements, ensuring the institution remains in alignment.

  Systemic Reporting to IPEDS and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

  Strategic Planning:

  Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the institution's mission and goals.

  Assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor progress towards institutional objectives.

  Accreditation Support:

  Direct accreditation processes and prepare/edit reports to the SACSCOC.

  Ensure all components of accreditation reports are complete, data supported, and peer reviewed prior to submission.

  Work with Faculty and Staff at the college to ensure the college is compliant with all accreditation standards.

  Prepare the QEP report with the Director of the QEP.

  Quality Assurance/Program Review:

  Implement quality assurance measures to assess the effectiveness of academic programs, support services, and administrative functions.

  Recommend improvements based on data-driven insights.

  Collaboration and Communication:

  Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to gather input and feedback for continuous improvement initiatives.

  Communicate research findings and recommendations effectively to various stakeholders, both in writing and through presentations.

  Technology Utilization:

  Utilize relevant technology and tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  Stay informed about emerging technologies in institutional research.

  Qualifications and Skills

  Bachelor’s required and Master's degree preferred in a relevant field (e.g., Higher Education, Educational Research, Statistics).

  Experience in institutional research, data analysis, and strategic planning.

  Direct experience with accreditation processes and standards (SACSCOC experience preferred).

  Strong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative research skills.

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  Proficiency in using statistical analysis software and data visualization tools.

  Compensation for this 12-month position  will commensurate with experience.

  Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program. As a result, employees/retirees of the college are subject to the federal Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and possibly the Government Pension Offset (GPO) laws.   Kilgore College is a two-year, comprehensive public community college with a campus in Kilgore and an extension center in Longview, Texas.   Positions will remain open until filled. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment.
