Casella Construction is seeking a Construction Superintendent to join our team. The Superintendent is responsible for the field planning and management process of all related aspects for the landfill construction project. The Superintendent ensures that the quality of the work and materials are upheld and that the schedule is followed as planned as well as enforces and adheres to company’s safety policies and procedures.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Manage On-Site operations for Landfill Construction Project, Heavy Highway, Utility (pipe) installation, and site projects.

　　Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to the company safety policy, promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards immediately.

　　Supervise and direct field crews and subcontractors.

　　Direct oversight responsibility of time sheets for labor and equipment, as well as daily reports complete with quantities worked.

　　Review and submit weekly accountability reports.

　　Understands the project plans, specifications and the company procedures, software, and technology.

　　Responsible for hitting production targets to ensure successful delivery of project within the schedule.

　　Manage crew labor and equipment time to achieve maximum productivity and meet budget.

　　Review and approve monthly job costs updates.

　　Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout construction project.

　　Interview and hire staff as needed.

　　Recommend, where appropriate, organizational, procedural, policy, and staffing changes.

　　Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and field staff.

　　Creates an environment that encourages people to do their best; able to motivate subcontractors, vendors, and others necessary to accomplish the project.

　　Ensures all parties know if they are meeting expectations; step up to problems with persons / situations; is not afraid to act when necessary.

　　Focus efforts and time on what is most important by identifying the critical priorities; plans for and adjusts to problems and roadblocks; creates a focus for self and others.

　　Qualifications:

　　4-year Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree desired.

　　Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a superintendent in a Civil Construction Company.

　　Experience with Landfills and Geosynthetic preferred.

　　Experience with Heavy Highway, Utility (pipe) Installation and site projects.

　　Experience with mass excavation operations.

　　Ability to read blueprints and drawings.

　　Experience with HDPE piping.

　　Working knowledge of Bluebeam software and Tremble GPS systems.

　　Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

　　Must have OSHA 10 Certificate.

　　OSHA 30 Certificate preferred.

　　Through knowledge of construction and trade activities, tools, equipment operation and skills of various trade types.

　　Valid drivers license is required, as well as a safe driving record.

　　Ability to work outside in all weather.
